Any idea? I've got MGBs and an Austin-Healey Sprite and it seems to me that Marinas are _way_ more rare than those!

Thanks!

I dont know how many were imported, but I am almost certain that they did not have a high survival rate as compared to similarly imported British cars. If you can find a book that goes by the title "Triumph's in America" or something similar there is a picture of them on Seaforth Docks in Liverpool lined up to come over on the ships.

I don't have anything but memory to support this, but as I do remember we only got fewer than 50,000  Marinas in the US in the 3 years combined that they were imported.  We started getting them in late '73, then all of '74, and about 4 months in '75.  They were imported into Canada starting sometime late '72 (correct me here) and ceased in '77.  I don't have any idea how many were imported there.  Your Marina is quite rare now.  Treasure her, and she'll become a treasure.
Every time I say something like that, my friend Joe Curto (Mr. SU Carb) tells me I need "professional help!"

Any chance of some pics of your new treasure? Are you keeping those "Chevy SS" stripes?

Chris:  Lots of pics on the website.  I'm getting some photos of the engine compartment together to post per a request from another participant.  Thanks for asking, Skip

Hey Skip,

I was throwing the pics request to the new guy, I have seen your car on the site - even had it as my wallpaper on my computer for a while.

I did that carrier bearing replacement eventually, not as bad of a task as I thought, so the old one will be heading back to you shortly.

Chris:  Another instance of my illiteracy regarding these forum operations.  I'll read closer from now on.  No sweat on the return items--your convenience, to be sure.

When I got my Marina (white with blue racing stripes!), the previous owner had painted the wheels chocolate brown. I snapped a couple of pictures the day after I got it, but those pix have the (IMHO ugly) brown wheels. Before I got new tires on it, I had the wheels painted back their original silver-grey but I have yet to snap some pictures with the "new" wheels and new tires. I hope to do that in the next few days and then I'll post them!

Thanks for asking!
