Here ya go
I found a receipt in one of the books that was given to me when i bought the Marina. So wanting to know a little history about the car ( thought the book had stayed with the car.....) i read the receipt and it had a name and phone number on it. COOL It was dated 2003 and was for a alternator repair and other stuff i couldn't read. Well the receipt was in Portland, Or which is a fer piece from East Texas. Their was a phone number and so after constipating on it,I thought should i or shouldn't i call? What where they going to do BIT me.....lol
A nice lady answered the phone i asked ( per the paper ) if SO and SO was there she said not right now. Wow that means that the number is still the home number COOL
Well i told her i was just wanting to ask her husband about a Austin Marina that i had bought just wanted to know a little history on it. She said just a minute he is here.
Well to make a short story long the book was his and he had a saloon instead of a gt. He had given the saloon to Goodwill and all the stuff he had. He told me that his wife had a GT and some one had ran into her. then he bought a Saloon after that.
After talking to him for about 30 minutes or so he told me that it was hard to remember allot of it because he was 85 now....lol He had a VERY sharp mind and after talking to him he started to remember some of the work he had done on the cars. He told me about rebuilding the " 4speed" on his work bench.
I could go on and on I just wanted ya to know what one phone call can do for a person and how happy this man was after i had talked to him. He is from England and thanked me for calling, He said " I got something to think about for the next few days! " I told him it was MY pleasure that he took my call. He was a wealth of information about the Marinas after he got to remembering.
I told him about our site and he said tomorrow he was going to get his wife to show him!!!!!! WOW to COOL
I just wanted to share this with all of ya'll
